BPlex-PRO is a Methylated B complex with the necessary Branch Chain Amino Acids (BCAA’s), synergistic natural detoxifiers, and Intrinsic Factor to insure proper nutrient uptake from the gut. The original formula was designed to address the need for those with the MTHFR mutation but as we progressed in our studies we found that more was needed than just L-Methylfolate with a little B12 thrown in for good measure. One of the first things we noticed was that there were many patients with the MTHFR mutation that were taking large amounts of L-Methylfolate yet were not getting it to the blood stream and/or were having problems with the detoxification process which occurs when the Methylfolate levels are re-established. Over the next year we set out to find the best molecular forms of each nutrient as well as any needed enzymes or co-factors at the proper ratio. The result is what you see below:
Dosing is dependent on MTHFR mutation so here is a basic guideline to help you determine your probable need: (follow your providers direction if given)
MTHFR 677 "CT" Heterozygous (1 mutation) = ~40% loss of function 2-3 capsules per day
MTHFR 677 "TT" Homozygous (double mutation)= ~75% loss of function 3-4 capsules per day
MTHFR 1298 "AC" Heterozygous (1 mutation) = ~20% loss of function 1-2 capsule per day
MTHFR 1298 "CC" Homozygous (double mutation) = ~40% loss of function 2-3 capsules per day
MTHFR 677 "CT" & MTHFR 1298 "AC" Compound Heterozygous (1 mutation on C677T and A1298C) = ~50-60% loss of function 3-4 capsules per day
